SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Former South Dakota State guard and NBA free agent Nate Wolters has teamed up with Sanford POWER Basketball Academy’s Allan Bertram for two youth basketball camps in early August. The Nate Wolters Basketball Camp is at the Sanford Pentagon on Aug. 4 and Frost Arena in Brookings on Aug. 5.
Both camps are for athletes from second to 12th grade. Wolters and Bertram will focus on individual offensive skill work in ball handing, live-ball moves, shooting fundamentals and drills, footwork and overall scoring techniques.
“We are very lucky to have such a high quality player and person take time away from his schedule to work with our area basketball players,” said Bertram. “Nate is truly one of the best players to put on a uniform in our state and is someone who does an outstanding job of working with the players and taking the time to pass on his knowledge of the game.”
A second-round draft pick in 2013, Wolters has spent time with the Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans. He is currently a free agent. Wolters left SDSU as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,363 points and is the only player in Jackrabbit history with more than 2,000 points.
