SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Here’s everything you need to know about the men's basketball matchup between No. 1-ranked Gonzaga (3-0) and No. 3 Iowa (6-0) at 11 a.m. CT Dec. 19 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.:

  • This will be the fourth meeting between the programs and the first since the third round of the 2015 NCAA tournament. The Zags won that matchup 87-68 to claim their first win in the series.
  • All members of each team’s traveling party will adhere to Big Ten in-season COVID-19 testing protocols. All members will enter the building using a separate entrance and will only have access to the lower level of the facility. All members will remain in a controlled environment throughout their stay. If any member of the traveling party tests positive for COVID-19, that individual and those deemed close contacts will not participate. The game will be played without general fans in the stands.
  • The contest will air live on CBS. Tom McCarthy and Clark Kellogg will be on the call. As for radio, National Sports Network will have the broadcast via the Tune-In app
  • This is the Pentagon debut for Gonzaga. The Zags are the only team in the nation to win 30 games in each of the last four seasons. They're lead by pre-season All-Americans Corey Kispert and Drew Timme plus Minnesota native Jalen Suggs - a true freshman and the highest-rated recruit in program history.
  • The Hawkeyes made their Heritage Court debut on Dec. 22, 2017 in an 80-73 win over Colorado. Several Hawkeyes remain from that time, including center Luka Garza. The 6-foot-10 senior was a reserve in 2017; now he's the frontrunner for national player of the year.
  • Iowa comes in to the game 6-0 off a 106-53 victory over Northern Illinois on Sunday, December 13. Gonzaga, who have not played since December 2, boast a 3-0 record with wins over Associated Press top-10 teams Kansas and West Virginia.
  • This will be the 47th NCAA Division I men’s basketball game hosted by the Sanford Pentagon since opening in late 2013. It’s the 19th such game in the course of 25 games. The venue also hosted three Division I women’s games in that time.
  • All post-game press conferences will be conducted virtually and air afterward on the Sanford Pentagon’s YouTube channel.
  • This game will help promote the Coaches vs. Cancer "Suits And Sneakers Week," an annual event that unites the American Cancer Society and basketball coaches for a common cause – saving lives from cancer. Gonzaga coach Mark Few and Iowa coach Fran McCaffery will wear special sneakers to support childhood cancer awareness, and to raise funds to support childhood cancer research, services and cancer prevention efforts targeting children. Like Sanford Health, the coaches are long-time supporters of Coaches vs. Cancer.
  • The brand new Sanford Pentagon Experience app provides a one-stop-shop location for fans to experience gameday, featuring multimedia content, schedules, live stats, team information and fan guides. The new app will also feature new promotional offers for fans from various sponsors. It’s available for download in the Android and Apple app stores or by clicking here.
