Pentagon to host SDBBCA clinic

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sanford Pentagon will host the annual South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association Coaches Clinic on Nov. 17. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:15 p.m. It’s free of charge for coaches, and each participant gets one complimentary ticket to the East-West Challenge games that will be held later that day.

The clinic features some of the top high school and college coaches in the region. The full lineup:

  • Ryan Thompson, Black Hills State University men’s basketball
  • Matt Daly, Sioux Falls Lincoln girls basketball
  • Paul Sather, Northern State University men’s basketball
  • Derek Robey, Sioux Falls O’Gorman boys basketball
  • Dawn Plitzuweit, University of South Dakota women’s basketball

Thompson and Sather will face off Nov. 16 in the first night of the East-West Challenge, a new event featuring four NCAA Division II schools in South Dakota.

Plitzuweit will coach at the Pentagon again Nov. 21, leading the Coyotes – the reigning regular-season champions in The Summit League – against Wichita State. Tickets for that game are available now.

Admission to the SDBBCA Coaches Clinic is free, but any potential attendees need to email Paul Seville, paul.seville@sanfordhealth.org, to confirm their attendance.

November 16:

5:30 PM: Northern State vs. Black Hills State

7:30 PM: Augustana vs. SD School of Mines & Technology

* One ticket is good for both games.

November 17:

3:30 PM: Northern State vs. SD School of Mines & Technology

5:30 PM: Augustana vs. Black Hills State
