SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – More than 15 professional basketball players are expected for the inaugural Sanford Pentagon Pro Training Camp Aug. 14-16. The three-day event is centered on the performance services of Sanford Health and concludes with a youth clinic.
Players will use the first two days of camp to employ the expertise available at the Sanford POWER Basketball Academy, Sanford SCORE and the Sanford Sports Science Institute. Sessions will include basketball skill development, biomechanics, injury prevention, nutrition and hydration.
The final day concludes with a youth clinic, which includes instruction from the professional players. It runs from 1 to 3 p.m. for children in second through 12th grade and costs $20.
“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the elite training ground we’ve established for some of the country’s most elite basketball players,” said Eric Larsen, general manager of the Sanford Sports Complex. “We hope to build a stronger reputation across the nation for the high quality services we have for athletes of all levels.”
