SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Toronto Raptors center Greg Stiemsma and Sanford POWER Basketball Academy’s Allan Bertram will host a camp for post players July 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon.
Open to athletes from seventh to 12th grade, the Greg Stiemsma Post Camp will cover offensive post moves, footwork and rebounding techniques and will take campers through a full offensive post workout.
“We are excited to be able to bring in a proven NBA center to work with our athletes at the Pentagon,” said Bertram. “Greg has done a tremendous job at the professional level and is someone who works well with athletes in teaching them the important aspects of post play.”
The 6-foot-11 Stiemsma currently plays for the Toronto Raptors. He played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin and has spent time with four NBA teams, making starts for the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans. Stiemsma played for the NBA D-League’s Sioux Falls Skyforce, earning defensive player of the year honors in 2010. He is a highly regarded shot blocker and has recorded 232 swats in his four NBA seasons.
