SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2020 Summit League Volleyball Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare bracket  was revealed by league officials on Saturday with reigning tournament champion Denver earning the No. 1 seed after clinching the regular-season title after completing a series sweep over Kansas City.
This is the sixth season that the Pioneers have won at least a share of The Summit League regular-season crown and enter the championship as the No. 1 seed. The 2019 tournament champions claimed the regular-season title after defeating Kansas City 3-0 for the second day in a row.
As the top seed, Denver will be playing fourth-seeded Omaha at 2:30 p.m. CT in the opening semifinal of the championship. The Mavericks earned the No. 4 seed for the second-consecutive season and look to make it to the championship match for the second-straight year. Omaha upset top-seeded South Dakota in the 2019 semifinals to advance to the program’s second-ever championship match. The Mavericks handed Denver one of its two losses this season back on Feb. 1 with a 3-1 victory to split the series in Denver.
In its first season back with the Summit League, Kansas City earned the No. 2 seed and will play in Friday’s second semifinal at 6 p.m. CT and will take on No. 3 seed and 2019 regular-season champion South Dakota. The Roos claimed the regular-season series over the Coyotes on March 19-20 when the Roos gritted out two five-set thrillers in Vermillion.
The winners of Friday’s semifinal matches will play Saturday’s championship match at 2 p.m. CT with the champion earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Saturday’s championship match will be televised live on MidcoSN and streamed on Midco Sports Plus and ESPN+.
