BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Sanford Health Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments will continue to be played at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the next two seasons. The league’s athletic administrators extended the agreement with the Sanford Pentagon during their annual meetings earlier this month.
“The NSIC is fortunate to have the Sanford Pentagon as its basketball tournament home,” said NSIC Commissioner Erin Lind. “The experience that the student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans receive from playing in a premier facility is second to none. We are proud to continue our partnership with the Pentagon for one of the top basketball tournaments in Division II.”
“We are very proud of how the NSIC/Sanford Health men’s and women’s basketball tournaments have grown over the years and become a March staple in Sioux Falls for basketball fans across the region,” said Jesse Smith, vice president of Sanford Sports. “We have a great relationship with the NSIC and are excited to continue to host these tournaments that feature an incredible amount of talent every season.”
The Sanford Pentagon has been home to the NSIC/Sanford Health Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments since 2014. This premier tournament brings eight women’s and eight men’s teams to the Sioux Falls community to compete at the Sanford Pentagon over a four-day period. All 14 games played at the Sanford Pentagon are aired live on Midco Sports Network and are streamed to the world on the newly designed NSIC Network.
